THE TECHNICIAN

Hey friends! I’m Jake, Owner and sole technician (for now) of Ayos SproWorks! Native to San Diego, aside from being a hobby photographer, I’ve always had a knack for repair. I always had a curiosity in how machines function, with only the slightest fear of breaking them in the process. To the surprise of many, I’ve only been in coffee since the end of 2020. I got my start in this industry with Bird Rock Coffee Roasters making their cold brew for the first year. I quickly transitioned into their in-house technician and facilities maintenance after proving my mechanical proficiency. Within that first year I completed the SCA certified tech course in KC, MO, as well as completed training with multiple equipment manufacturers. Within a few months I helped extend that service arm to the community with Espresso Medic of San Diego. I’m the certified Loring Smart Roast Technician for Southern CA! After three solid years, I felt it was time to branch off on my own as I wanted to continue expanding on that community focus.
